If we want the parallel execution of steps then we can take the help of Fork step which allows the simultaneous execution of branches.

  • Right Click on branch and select the Fork from Step types.
  • In Step Name – Provide any title , In Parallel Branches provide the no of branches you want to execute in parallel and in End condition ( In necessary branches provide the no of branch which when executed will end the fork.)
  • Once the step is created you will get the branches as shown below. Since 2 branches were provided thus in fork two branches are appearing. In necessary condition only 1 branch is given which implies if any one of the branch get executed then the fork will get ended and the steps which are present below the fork will get executed.
  • Add the steps in Fork ( You can add any step type based on the requirement)
  • We have created user decision step in both the branches.

  • Now execute the workflow , once executed two workitem will get appear in Inbox since two branches got executed in parallel.
  • Execute only one wokritem. Once executed the fork will get ended and the other worksite will get logically deleted , which will in-turn get disappear from inbox.
  • Go to SWIA and see the workflow log
  • Since only one branch is being given in necessary branch thus when we executed only one workitem the fork got ended and if you have steps created below the fork then that will get executed.
