We developed one custom web application that uses workflow. It was working without problem in DEV system. We transported that application to QA system. The application is one form. When staff submits form, work item gets generated and Approver can see work item in his/her inbox. But when they open in QA system, page is getting opened but with message " Workflow: Execute operation on Work Item".

Check the below ways to resolve the issue.

• Check whether configuration steps for Workflow Task with Web dynpro Application @SWFVISU transaction code. 
• If step 1 is proper, on the portal, System Administration->System configuration->Universal Worklist & Workflow->Universal Worklist - Administration.  

•  Finally clear portal catch. Follow the step 2 path and do the following.
